FAQ's
What is an Intro Lesson?
An Intro Lesson is a free 30-minute guitar session designed to give you a clear picture of what learning guitar with Auckland Guitar Studio is like.
In the lesson, we get to know you—your goals, your musical tastes, your experience level—and then we jump straight into playing. You’ll learn some fundamentals, get a feel for the instrument, and see how our teaching style works.
It’s also your chance to decide whether Auckland Guitar Studio is the right fit. You’ll meet your tutor, experience our space, and ask any questions you have.
If you’ve already completed an Intro Lesson—or you’d like to book full lessons—you can book 30-minute or 60-minute lessons through our pricing page.
How much is an Intro Lesson?
Free!
Your Intro Lesson gives you a look at what learning guitar with us feels like before you commit to regular lessons. When you’re ready to continue, you can view and book all full-lesson options on our pricing page.
What do I need to bring to my Intro Lesson?
Nothing at all. We provide guitars, amps, music stands, picks, and everything you’ll need. Just bring yourself. If you prefer to use your own guitar, feel free to bring it — it’s a great chance for us to check your setup and help you get more familiar with your instrument.
How long is the Intro Lesson?
30 minutes. Long enough to get you playing, short enough to fit easily into your day.
Do I need any experience?
No. We teach complete beginners through to advanced players. Your tutor will tailor the lesson to your level.
Can both kids or adults book an Intro Lesson?
Yes. We teach children, teenagers, and adults. For younger students, we tailor the pace and approach to keep things engaging and achievable.
Can I learn on acoustic or electric guitar?
Yes either is fine. We have both available at the studio, and you can try each if you’re unsure which one suits you.
Do I need to buy a guitar before starting lessons?
Not at all. Many students start without owning a guitar. Your tutor can recommend the right guitar when you’re ready to buy. We also offer guitar and bass rentals so you can take one of ours home with you as well.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. Parents/guardians are welcome for younger students, and adults can bring a friend or family member if they’d like.
